A 55-year-old man died after his electric scooter collided with a semi at about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, June 8 in Kent near the intersection of Washington Avenue North and West Meeker Street.
Craig Hatfield died from blunt force injuries to his torso, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office June 9 media report.
Witnesses told officers that Hatfield reportedly weaved in and out of traffic and did not appear to see the semi making a right turn onto Washington Avenue South from West Meeker Street, according to Kent Police.
Hatfield initially spoke with officers and Puget Sound Fire personnel but later died on scene from his injuries, according to police. The semi driver stayed on scene and cooperated with officers.
