A man was found dead in a Kent apartment after Puget Sound Fire responded to a fire at about 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 in the 25900 block of 25th Lane South on the West Hill.
Puget Sound Fire responded to an initial report of an odor in the building. Upon arrival, firefighters upgraded it to a structure fire response. Firefighters entered the apartment and found the smoldering fire had burned itself out, according to Puget Sound Fire. They also found one deceased occupant.
Damage was limited to one apartment and a fire investigator ruled the cause as accidental.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet identified the man or a cause and manner of death.
