A 21-year-old Kent man fatally shot Nov. 22 in Kent has been identified as Hinkley Leifi.
Leifi died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office Dec. 3 media report. He was shot in the 1500 block of West Meeker Street, according to Kent Police.
Officers responded after numerous 911 callers reported hearing between five to 12 gunshots and saw a man on the ground in a parking lot, according to a Nov. 22 Kent Police news release.
Officers arrived on scene and administered lifesaving medical aid to Leifi, who had several apparent gunshot wounds, according to police. Puget Sound Fire firefighters arrived shortly after and took over efforts to save Leifi before medics transported him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died while in surgery.
Initial information from witnesses is that the suspect fled in a vehicle after shooting Leifi several times, according to police. There is also indication that the shooter and Leifi interacted just prior to the shooting and are known to each other.
As of Tuesday, Dec. 3, police had not made an arrest or released any suspect information.

This was the second fatal shooting in two days in Kent.
Khamal J. Blissitt, 21, of SeaTac, died from multiple gunshot wounds Nov. 21 while driving a vehicle along Veterans Drive in Kent near Military Road South. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Blissitt in its Nov. 25 media report.
Witnesses told officers that Blissitt was traveling westbound on Veterans Drive on the West Hill and had stopped at the traffic light, waiting to turn northbound on Military Road South, according to a Nov. 21 Kent Police news release. A person ran up to his vehicle, shot multiple times into the passenger’s side window and then fled.
As of Tuesday, Dec. 3, police had not made an arrest or released any suspect information. It was not a random incident, according to police.
