A 14-year-old boy was shot and critically injured during a incident at about 12:41 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8 at the Indigo Springs Apartments, 11101 SE 208th St., in the Panther Lake area of Kent.
A group of young males walking through the complex were confronted by another group, according to Kent Police. A 14-year-old victim in one group was shot several times, according to police reports.
Officers were dispatched for reports of an illegal discharge near the leasing office for the apartments, said Cmdr. Robert Hollis in a Monday email. Dispatch then upgraded the call to a shooting with injuries.
“Officers found the victim with gunshot wounds to his body,” Hollis said.
Paramedics transported the boy to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in critical condition, Hollis said.
“We were able to get limited information from possible witnesses,” Hollis said about the shooting. “Our detectives are still conducting interviews. There is no known suspect information at this time.”
