The King County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of South 277th Street and 55th Avenue South that sent nine people to the hospital Sunday.
One patient had serious injuries and was taken by medic unit to a local hospital. The other eight patients, including a young child, were transported by ambulances and aid car with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash took place at 5:42 p.m. and required three fire engines, an aid car, two King County Medic units; a fire commander, one Medic One commander and four ambulances
A total of 25 personnel were utilized to treat and transport the nine patients. Firefighters from the Kent Fire Department and South King Fire and Rescue responded to the call.
The exact cause of the crash has yet to be determined. South 277th will be closed for several hours while the investigation continues.
