The annual national food drive is May 8 by the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Postal customers can leave bags or boxes of non-perishable donations on May 8 next to their mailbox for carriers to pick up.
Letter carriers will deliver a bag to customer’s mailboxes during the first week of May.
Suggested items to donate include canned goods and dry food, such as tuna, canned meat, soups, pasta, rice and cereal.
Letter carriers will take the items to local food banks and shelters.
