A 24-year-old Lake Tapps woman was killed after road conditions caused her to lose control of her SUV and strike a tree on Monday night along Interstate 5 in Federal Way near South 272nd Street, just south of Kent.
Jessica T. Quinn-Whitney died of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Quinn-Whitney was traveling northbound on I-5 when she lost control of her vehicle, left the roadway, went down an embankment and struck a tree at about 10:15 p.m. Her SUV came to a rest in the ditch off the right side of the roadway.
Quinn-Whitney was wearing her seat belt, according to the State Patrol. She was alone in the SUV.
