King County Sheriff’s Office seeks victims of unreported assaults

King County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking female victims of unreported or unsolved assault cases similar to a March 2 beating in White Center.

Just before 2:30 a.m. March 2, deputies responded to the 9600 block of 15th Ave. SW in Seattle where a woman had been severely beaten and sexually assaulted. The suspect, a 21-year-old man from Tukwila, had allegedly grabbed the woman and tried to drag her to a secluded area before assaulting her. After the assault the suspect fled the area on foot, the Sheriff’s Office reported. A witness called 911 and the suspect was apprehended a short distance from the crime scene and arrested.

The victim, who detectives believe is homeless or transient, was critically injured and is at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in a medical coma.

Because of the serious nature of the crime, detectives believe there may be unreported or unsolved cases. The suspect is believed to have also lived in Auburn, Kent and South King County.

Victims of similar assaults or attempted assault should call the King County Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311.
