The King County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s help to locate Mark Dale Shewmaker who failed to appear in court on May 8 while waiting for the verdict on three counts of first-degree child molestation charges.

The crimes occurred from 2008 to 2011 and were reported in 2011, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Shewmaker is a 56-year-old white male. He is 6 feet, 1 inches and approximately 220 pounds with brown and gray hair and brown eyes. He lives in the Yakima area, but his current location is unknown, and he has ties to Southeast King County.

Shewmaker was last reported to be in the Chinook Pass area riding a black Suzuki motorcycle with a Washington plate of 9B1265 but he has access to other vehicles.

He has a $500,000 warrant out for his arrest.

Anyone with information on Shewmaker’s whereabouts is urged to call the King County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center at 206-296-3311. If anyone sees Shewmaker they are asked to call 911.
