Residents of King County can honor a Vietnam War veteran by ordering a free granite tile that will be placed in the Vietnam War Memorial in Les Gove Park in Auburn.
King County has offered to pay for the first 100 tiles for King County residents. You can submit a tile request form on honorvietnamvets.org and non-residents of King County can purchase a tile for $100.
The tiles are 3 inches tall by 6 inches wide and can be custom engraved with information including the name, branch and years of services of the veteran you want to honor.
The Vietnam War Memorial was built by American-Vietnamese War Memorial Alliance on land donated to the alliance by the city of Auburn in 2018, according to the alliance.
American-Vietnamese War Memorial Alliance is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization created to honor United States, Republic of Vietnam and Allied veterans of the Vietnam War.
If you have any questions regarding the tiles or the memorial, contact American-Vietnamese War Memorial Alliance via email at contact@honorvietnamvets.org or call 360-357-7684.
