Regional Animal Services of King County is offering a special discount fee of $50 this month to adopt an adult dog because its Kent shelter is overcapacity.
The saving is 50% or more off the regular adoption fee.
Nearly 50 dogs of all sizes have filled the kennels and the shelter is overcapacity. The shelter needs help from the community to find these dogs their “furever” homes.
“We have some truly wonderful dogs right now that have been at the shelter a long time,” said Alex Ropes, animal shelter administrator in a Sept. 7 news release. “We’re hopeful that their future family will walk in the door any day now.”
The adoption fee includes a King County pet license (if applicable), shelter veterinary exam including vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion and more.
Provide a loving home for a pet at kingcounty.gov/AdoptAPet.
The King County Pet Adoption Center is at 21615 64th Ave. S. in Kent. Business hours are noon to 6 p.m. weekdays and noon to 5 p.m. on weekends.
