Due to the recent severe weather conditions that produced heavy rain, flooding and strong wind conditions, King County Executive Ron Sims declared a Local Proclamation of Emergency Wednesday evening.
The emergency declaration allows King County departments to enter into contracts and incur obligations necessary to protect and provide emergency assistance to victims of flooding.
Historic flood conditions have occurred on the Tolt River, and the Snoqualmie River has reached stage IV flood stage. Flooding continues in parts of King County, and may worsen overnight.
The Flood Warning Center will continue to monitor the situation overnight. King County residents are reminded not to walk or drive through flooded areas. Water can be deeper and move more swiftly than it appears, and water levels can rise quickly.
To report flooded roadways or flooding storm drains, call 206-296-8100.
