The Minority Executive Directors Coalition of King County is hosting a King County Executive candidate forum from 6-8 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, at Kent-Meridian High School, 10020 S.E. 256th St.
Both Susan Hutchison and Dow Constantine are scheduled to attend.
The event will be moderated by Enrique Cerna of KCTS Connects and the candidates will face questioning regarding diversity issues from community leaders, according to a press release.
“Communities of color are overly represented amongst those receiving health and human services within the County. Many within these communities are already in precarious socio-economic situations,” said Dian Ferguson, co-chair of MEDC’s Public Policy Committee, in a press release. “To prevent them from suffering even more due to the current economic environment, it is imperative that communities of color hear from the candidates and know where they stand on issues that will determine if communities of color thrive or succumb to even hard times”
The event is co-sponsored by the South King Council on Human Services.
The Minority Executive Directors Coalition is an organization dedicated to achieving equity, equality and social justice.
