Residents can tell the King County Council’s Budget Committee what the county’s priorities should be for its 2017-18 biennial budget during a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18.
The meeting will be in Courtroom 3F at the Maleng Regional Justice Center, 401 Fourth Ave. N.
Public input is vital to the creation of the King County budget, said County Councilman Dave Upthegrove, chair of the Council’s Budget and Fiscal Management Committee. Upthegrove’s District 5 includes parts of Kent.
“We are going to make some tough choices this year and will rely on public input to make the best choices possible,” said Upthegrove in a media release. “I encourage anyone who cares about buses, human services or public safety to not only attend or watch a hearing, but to contact the council with your thoughts.”
