Crews installed a temporary bypass along West Meeker Street in Kent, just east of the Meeker Street Bridge, for approximately the next six weeks for utility work associated with the Marquee on Meeker project.
Drivers started to use the bypass this week and it will be in place until about Sept. 14, according to City Public Works officials.
Developers broke ground in May on a new 24-building, 20-acre mixed-use project featuring nearly 500 apartments known as Marquee on Meeker.
Auburn-based Landmark Development Group and HAL Real Estate will construct the project on the former Riverbend par 3 golf course property along the Green River they bought from the city of Kent for $10.5 million.
