Kent’s Stefano Langone competes Wednesday night in top 13 on ‘American Idol’

Kent’s Stefano Langone will sing a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Lately” when he performs among the final 13 contestants Wednesday night on “American Idol.”

Langone, 21, is one of six men and seven women who will compete at 8 p.m. Wednesday on the Fox show. Fans will be able to vote for their favorite contestant after the broadcast. Fox will reveal the results of which performers survive and which contestant gets sent home on the Thursday night show.

A critic who analyzes “American Idol” and saw the taping of the Wednesday night broadcast, wrote the following about Langone, a Kentwood High School graduate and former Bellevue College student.

“Stefano sang Stevie Wonder’s “Lately,” and his voice is amazing,” according to www.joesplaceblog.com. “No one was very familiar with the song. He probably could have picked a better song but his voice is just amazing. His brother was in the audience that looked like his double. R they twins? Him and James (Durbin) are very obviously very good friends and rooting for each other. In fact, the whole cast seems very happy and supportive of each other. He was looking smoking hot in leather and a tie I believe.”

Langone is scheduled to be the 10th performer Wednesday night, according to the lineup reported by americanidolnet.com.

Judges Steven Tyler, Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez picked Langone as one of three wild-card contestants on the March 3 show after viewers picked the top 10.

Now Langone will need votes from American viewers to stay on the show.
