Kent’s annual Spring Recycling Collection Event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, at Hogan Park, 24400 Russell Road.
Residents may bring those items that are not easily recycled at the curb including appliances and scrap metal, toilets, propane tanks, reusable household goods, tires, bulky yard debris and Styrofoam.
The recycling event is funded by grants from the state Department of Ecology, King County Solid Waste Division and the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program.
Due to a reduction in grant funding, the city can no longer mail flyers to promote the recycling events. It costs nearly $11,000 for postage to mail the flyers, according to a city media release.
