Thirty-five children received gifts as part of the seventh annual Shop with a Cop event in Kent.
Kent Police partner with Target and Kent Youth and Family Services to identify children from the Birch Creek, Valli Kee and the Cascade communities to spend an early morning shopping with an officer Dec. 19 at the Kent Target store on the East Hill.
Officers joined the children for a morning of holiday gift shopping and fun they wouldn’t otherwise get. Officers volunteer their time each year to take a kid shopping.
Funds are raised through private donations to support the event.
