Park Orchard Elementary School in Kent will host a Community Art Celebration from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, June 1 in the school’s gym, 11010 S.E. 232nd St.
Student artwork will be displayed throughout the school as part of an art walk. Local artists will demonstrate pottery, mosaics made with recycled gift cards and lace work. The artists also will donate items to be raffled off at 8 p.m. to participants.
Storme Weber, the school’s poet in residence, will have her student poets reading on the stage in the gym as part of the celebration.
