The city of Kent’s Neighborhood Council Program is offering new mini-grants for up to $1,000 that its 43 recognized neighborhood councils can apply for community-building events, leadership training and education, clean-up projects, barbecues and other events.
Groups can find out more details and apply online on the city of Kent website. The city also will award matching grants for events that qualify. The deadline to apply is Nov. 1.
Kent started the Neighborhood Council Program in 2006. By becoming part of the program, the city has an opportunity to improve communications with the neighborhoods and neighbors get the chance to get to know each other better and to work together.
