Eric Anderson, Kentridge High School’s longtime athletic director, died Saturday, according to social media postings from colleagues, family and friends.
Faculty organized a candlelight vigil Saturday night. Students are hosting a vigil at 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 9, at the school’s football field, 12430 SE 208th St.
“On July 7, our wonderful athletic director Mr. Anderson passed away,” according to a Kentridge Chargers Basketball Facebook page post. “He was an amazing mentor and an even better man to have known. He was someone who could always make your day brighter. Whether it was him telling you a joke or giving you a high-five in the hallway, he always had a smile on his face.
“Mr. Anderson impacted KR in a way that will live on forever. His name will not be forgotten.”
Anderson serve as the school’s AD since 1985 after previously working for the Tonasket and Enumclaw school districts.
