KentHOPE and Kent Downtown Partnership are gathering for a litter cleanup day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Volunteers are asked to meet at Kent-Kherson Peace Park, Second and Gowe streets.
Wear work gloves and bring a broom, rake, shovel and trash picker if you have them. Bring the family, invite your friends. Plan to stay for lunch at one of Kent’s downtown restaurants or coffee shops.
KentHOPE, Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission and others are collaborating with Kent business leaders to address homeless issues and solutions, which include downtown litter, re-opening public restrooms, panhandling and sleeping on business property.
