The city of Kent is partnering with Kent-based World Relief Western Washington to bring their From Home to Home exhibit to build understanding around forced displacement and resettlement.
The exhibit, part of the city’s Race and Equity Speaker Series, is semi-guided which puts you in the shoes of refugees and others who have been forced to leave behind their homes, and often loved ones, according to a city of Kent Facebook post. Learn about the challenges of resettlement in the United States, build greater empathy and find out what next steps you can take.
The exhibit will be open from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26 and Friday, Oct. 27 at the Kent Valley Professional Center, 124 Fourth Ave. S., Suite 180.
The city’s Race and Equity Speaker Series features distinguished leaders who contribute expert knowledge and diverse perspectives to our collective discussion around concepts like race, equity, diversity and inclusion. All interactive presentations and workshops are free to the public.
