The Kent Sunrise Rotary Club honored students and staff at Mattson Middle School for their academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.

The Rotary Club dedicates one meeting each month during the school year to honor a middle school in the Kent School District. Members selected Mattson for December.

Eighth graders Gracie Cushman and Ryan Renggli were recognized for academic achievement. Students Sophia Pozzi and Manraj Banga (unable to attend) were recognized for their service and citizenship. ASB secretary/cashier Jen Schafter and English teacher of 24 years Tina Tobiason, were also recognized this month. The honorees and their families were invited to attend this special celebration.

Each of the six honorees received a framed certificate, a $50 Amazon gift card and a Rotary four-way test coin – all donated by Kent Sunrise Club members.
