Lulu LaFever and the Hot Tamales will play sultry blues July 27 as part of the Soulful Sounds of Summer concerts at Kent Station.

Enjoy a “Date Night” with a free concert from 6-8 p.m. each Wednesday this summer at the Kent Station shopping mall, 417 Ramsay Way.

The Soulful Sounds of Summer concerts are put on by Kent Station in partnership with the city of Kent.

Donations of food, clothing or cash for the Kent Food Bank will be collected at each concert.

Kent Station also is selling organic cotton tote bags and organic cotton T-shirts, both are $10 and all proceeds are donated to the Kent Food Bank.  Purchase at any concert or call the management office to place an order at 253-856-2301.

Soulful Sound of Summer lineup:

July 20 – Bonzai Billy, surf sounds of the Beach Boys

July 27 – Lulu LaFever and the Hot Tamales, sultry blues, smoother than black velvet jazz with an old-school vibe and juke joint swing

Aug. 3 – Swing Session Big Band. a 17-piece band, music from the Rat Pack, and a lot of swing

Aug. 10    – The Diamond Experience, Neil Diamond and other hits from the 1960s and 70s

Aug. 17    – Knut Bell, rockabilly classic country and original country with a Northwest twang

Aug. 24 – Little Bill and the Bluenotes, three-piece blues band has been swinging in Seattle since the 1950s

Aug. 31 – Gun Shy, your favorite classic rock by a Kent band
