For the Reporter
Information about the Kent School District is now accessible through a mobile app.
“Our choice to go mobile aligns with our commitment to increase parent engagement,” said Thuan Nguyen, the district’s chief information and digital strategy officer. “Enabling our families to connect with district and school information in real-time, at their convenience, will increase both communication and collaboration within the KSD community.”
App features include:
• District and school news, allowing the user to select which schools and district news feeds they want to subscribe to
• Push notifications for the district or school to send out instant alerts to the user’s mobile device
•Calendar information for school, athletic and district events, including the ability to add events from school calendars to the user’s device calendar
• School and district directories and maps
• Contact information for teachers, administrators and other staff
• Links to the district’s or school Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts
• Ability to be translated into nearly 70 languages
The KSD mobile app is free for users and available for iPhone and Android devices.
