Burger King employees hid in a locked room after a suspect with a gun entered through the drive-thru window, removed a cash register and fled the restaurant at 22442 84th Ave. S., in Kent.
Officers were dispatched at about 9:42 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 for a report of threats with a gun, according to an email from Kent Police Assistant Chief Jarod Kasner. Burger King employees inside a office called 911.
Officers did not find a suspect when they arrived, Kasner said. They made contact with the employees who were not contacted or injured by the suspect.
A review of video surveillance footage showed the suspect entered through the drive-thru window. A K-9 unit tried to track the suspect but nobody was found.
Police are investigating the case as a robbery.
A resident reported to the Kent Reporter that as many as a dozen police vehicles were at the scene.
