Get that boat out and head to Lake Meridian Park.
Kent city officials reopened the Lake Meridian boat launch June 25 after temporarily closing the ramp June 9 because unusually high rainfall resulted in a significant rise in the lake’s water level and posed a risk to the shoreline.
But dry weather the past few days allowed enough water to drain out of the lake.
Closures of the boat launch typically occur only during winter months, said Parks Director Jeff Watling. But the heavy rainfall in June caused the water level to rise.
For more information about water levels at the lake, call the Public Works department at 253-856-5500 or go to www.ci.kent.wa.us.
