Kent Police continue to search for the suspect who fatally shot a Kent man June 14 on the East Hill near Southeast 224th Street and Benson Road Southeast.
Adrian Lafferty, 28, died of a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
“The details are very limited, and given the fact the suspect is still at large we do not want to jeopardize the investigation at this time by releasing sensitive information about the case,” said police spokeswoman Melanie Robinson in a Wednesday email.
Robinson said it was not a random incident.
“They were introduced by associates and had no real connection otherwise,” said Robinson, who added it was a not a gang-related shooting.
Lafferty died at the scene of the shooting at about 1:56 a.m.
“We are making good efforts to locate and get the suspect into custody,” Robinson said.
