Kent Police continued to search Tuesday for the man who fatally shot a 24-year-old Federal Way man during a dispute last week.
David Cabrera died Nov. 2 from a gunshot wound of the head, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The shooting occurred Nov. 2 in the 22200 block of 84th Avenue South, according to a Kent Police media release last week. Preliminary information suggests that this incident is specific to the parties involved.
“At this time the circumstances around this incident are still being determined,” said police spokesman Jarod Kasner in a Tuesday email when asked for details about the dispute or connection between the parties.
At 8:03 a.m., officers responded to witnesses that reported to police that a man had shot another man. Officers were on the scene within moments and discovered that the shooter had already fled the scene in a silver or gray four-door sedan.
Officers searched the area for the suspect but did not find him. The suspect and believed driver of the sedan were caught on surveillance video. Police released photos of the suspects.
“We have received several tips since we posted the information,” Kasner said.
Detectives are working to identify the involved suspects and police said they are confident that the public can assist. Anyone with information about this incident should call 911 or the Kent Police Department tip line at 253-856-5808.
The shooting death is the 10th homicide in Kent this year, four more than last year. The city had five homicides in 2015, four in 2014, three in 2013 and two in 2012. Kent is the sixth largest city in Washington with a population of more than 120,000.
Relatives of Cabrera posted an account on GoFundMe.com to help raise funds for funeral expenses.

He was an amazing person, kindhearted and always willing to give his last to anyone. If you can please help my family in this time of need it is greatly appreciated.
