Kent Police are asking witnesses to come forward as detectives try to figure out who brutally assaulted a 36-year-old Port Angeles man in a common outside area of the Hawthorn Suites hotel.
Christopher Ochs died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle six days after the Dec. 15 attack from the head injuries he suffered, according to a police media release on Tuesday.
The assault occurred in the morning at the hotel, 6329 S. 212th St. Police believe suspects fled from the hotel toward the neighboring Shell gas station in the 6300 block of South 212th Street before leaving the area.
Detectives said it does not appear to be a random incident and that the suspects may have known Ochs. Police have no information about the suspects.
Anyone who may have witnessed any of the events that morning at the Hawthorne Suites hotel and/or the Shell station are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or the Kent Police tip line at 253-856-5808.
