The Kent Police are looking to hire part-time cadets.
The Cadet Program is a part-time internship position within the police department. Cadets are paid $14 an hour and work up to 19 hours per week during the school year, with opportunities for additional hours in the summer for special events.
Cadets are eligible for school tuition reimbursement after completing and passing their classes and providing proof.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Park and trail patrol security; observation and reporting; assisting and supporting special events; assisting with parking enforcement and traffic control efforts; inventory control and dispersal efforts; basic research and document creation; administrative support functions for all police department divisions; and delivery of equipment, documents and materials between city departments.
The minimum education and experience requirements are:
• Must have a high school diploma, a general education degree (GED), or equivalent and must be enrolled full time in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university.
• Must have a valid Washington Driver’s License.
• Must be a U.S. citizen at the time of application.
• Must be able to pass a physical agility test.
