Kent Police are investigating a death in the 24100 block of 114th Avenue Southeast on the East Hill where human skeletal remains were found at about 11 a.m. Friday by a crew clearing brush.
Detectives have cordoned off a moderate-sized area for their investigation, according to an email from Kent Police Lt. Pat Lowery. Police and city public works staff are methodically clearing the area around the body to facilitate their search.
“At this time we are still evaluating the circumstances of this discovery,” Lowery said. “There is nothing readily evident to tell us what happened.” Detectives and crime scene investigators will continue to process the area for evidence. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to initiate its own forensic inquiry.
No further information is expected to be released until the Medical Examiner’s Office finishes its investigation.
