Kent Police are investigating a possible drive-by shooting on East Hill Thursday morning that critically injured a 29-year-old Kent man.
Police responded to a report around 6:20 a.m. of a possible drive-by shooting. Officers responded to the area of the 12700 block of Southeast 274th Street, discovering a man with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his chest. Police and fire personnel initiated immediate medical aid and transported the man to the hospital for further care.
Preliminary information suggests that this is not a random act and that the incident is related to illegal drug activity, police said.
Detectives continue to gather information from witnesses and have collected evidence from the scene to clarify the circumstances that led to the shooting, police said.
