Kent Police are trying to determine what led to shots fired and a car crash Monday evening on the East Hill near the 10600 block of Southeast 236th Street.
Officers were dispatched at about 6:25 p.m. to the report of an illegal discharge, according to an email from Kent Police Cmdr. Robert Hollis. Officers found a vehicle that had crashed into a fence at the Mosaic Hills Apartments. Witnesses saw the occupants of the vehicle running away.
“When officers arrived, they located evidence that a shooting had occurred,” Hollis said. “However, there were no victims or suspects located and witnesses in the area had very limited information. No arrests have been made. It is unknown at this time how this vehicle was connected to the shooting.”
Detectives are investigating the incident, Hollis said.
