At 9:08 p.m. March 11, Kent police were dispatched to the 24000 block of 104th Avenue SE in response to a welfare check and found a man who appeared to have possibly been the victim of a hit-and-run.
The 911 caller stated that a man was laying in an apartment complex entry driveway and appeared to be injured. Reportedly, Kent officers quickly arrived and located the victim, a 33-year-old Kent man, still in the driveway.
Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority personnel arrived at the same time and immediately began to administer CPR. Efforts to save the man were continued for an extended period, according to police, but the man eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Kent officers and traffic investigators interviewed people at the scene and canvassed the area for video evidence from neighboring businesses, according to police. They did not locate anyone who witnessed how the victim was injured, and there was no video of the incident, police report.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting a cause of death investigation.
Kent police ask anyone with information regarding the situation to call 253-856-5808 or email KPDTips@kentwa.gov.
