A sampling of Kent Police incidents May 19 to May 23:
May 19
Most wanted arrest: 7:02 p.m., officers responded to the Central Flats Apartments, 1024 Central Ave. N., for a suspicious subject who was on Washington’s Most Wanted. The subject had an active felony warrant for his arrest. Upon arrival, they observed the male in the parking lot working on a motorcycle, and he immediately fled inside an apartment and began to barricade himself. After a short period of time, officers were able to contact him via phone, and got him to exit the apartment and he was taken into custody. The motorcycle he was working on was also a reported stolen vehicle.
May 20
Standoff: 11:04 p.m., officers were dispatched to a suspicious circumstance call at Birch Creek Apartments, 13111 SE 274th St. The caller was a domestic violence victim in fear of the subject. The man had an active state Department of Corrections escape community custody warrant. He ran from officers then locked himself inside. After a standoff of several hours on-duty SWAT officers started to breach the front door. The man then came out and surrendered. The man also had robbery, domestic violence, ID theft and residential burglary warrants out for his arrest.
May 22
Attempted burglary: 2:14 a.m., there was an attempted commercial burglary at Champion Arms, 18801 East Valley Hwy. An unknown suspect tried shattering the front glass with rocks but was unsuccessful in making entry.
May 23
Woman shot: 10:30 p.m., hours a 40-year-old woman claimed she was with friends putting fuel in their car at McChevron, 10715 SE 240th St. The victim heard a noise and felt pain to her torso. She did not know who shot her, but she had a through-and-through gunshot to her torso. Her friends drove her straight to Valley Medical Center in Renton for treatment without calling 911 first.
