A sampling of Kent Police incidents from June 14-29:
June 14
Dumpster fire: 11:33 p.m., a witness saw a male set fire to dumpster at a Jack in the Box. The man was located and arrested.
June 15
Stolen vehicle: 5:39 a.m., a recklessly driven truck crashed into a ditch. The driver exited and said the vehicle was not his. The vehicle returned stolen out of Tacoma. There was a gun seen in the back of the truck. The driver was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and the vehicle impounded for a search warrant.
Woman on train tracks: 4:09 p.m., officers were dispatched to a train vs pedestrian collision. A 37-year-old SeaTac woman laid down on the tracks as the train approached. The train did a full emergency stop but was unable to stop in time and the woman was killed.
June 16
Gunfire exchanged: 8:22 p.m., officers responded to the ampm store, 24001 Pacific Highway S., in reference to a shooting. Twenty shell casings and live ammunition rounds were located in the parking lot. A single female shooting victim later arrived at St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way, and advised she had been shot during this incident. It was later discovered two different shooters had exchanged gunfire from a pair of vehicles in the parking lot.
June 19
ATM robbery: 10:17 p.m., at Chase Bank ATM on SE 236th Street/104th Avenue SE. A victim took out $500 at the ATM. Two suspects ran up to him, one tackling him to the ground.
The other suspect brandished a knife and kicked victim. They took his money and fled. A K-9 unit track to Mosaic Hills Apartments ended with no suspects in custody.
June 20
Drive-by shooting: 9:40 a.m., patrol responded to a drive-by at Waters Edge Apartments, 6300 block South 238th Place, someone in a black GMC Denali fired multiple shots towards the G building, striking it once. There is video of the incident, one round and casing were recovered.
June 24
Shot in hand: 11:46 p.m., officers were dispatched to Birch Creek Apartments, 13100 block of SE 274th Street, for an uncooperative subject shot in the hand. No suspects were seen. Officers canvassed the area for evidence, but were unable to find any casings.
June 26
Shoes stolen: 6:41 p.m., a victim was selling a pair of shoes on Offer Up and was lured to the Arterra Townhomes, 10000 block of SE 258th Place. The two suspects inspected the shoes and one suspect pulled out a gun and told the victim to run.
June 27
Parked vehicles shot: 2:41 a.m., patrol responded to a shooting at Hawthorn Suites, 6300 block S. 212th Street. Upon arrival two unoccupied vehicles were impounded that had sustained bullet damage. No victims were located.
Tools stolen: 9:30 p.m., a subject cut a hole in the south fence line of The Henson Company. The suspect took close to around $10,000 in tools. The suspect had staged a few more items as if he was going to return.
June 29
Burglary arrest: 2:31 a.m., a burglar alarm with audio of two suspects talking inside California Closets, 20400 block of 84th Avenue South. Officers contacted the suspects as they were leaving in a U-Haul. One suspect was fired from the business a year ago. The door of the business was pried open and the suspect took several expensive hand tools. The U-Haul was sealed for a search warrant to retrieve the stolen items. Both suspects were arrested and booked.
Victim shot: 1:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting that occurred at Hawthorn Suites. 6300 block S. 212th Street. A victim with a gunshot wound to his chest was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in critical condition. Officers located 9mm casings. No suspect information.
