A sampling of Kent Police incidents July 15-24:

July 13

Gunshot wounds: 5:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to Valley Medical Center in Renton for an 18-year-old man with gunshot wounds. The injury was non-life threatening. The victim claimed he was walking in the area of Railroad Avenue South and East Morton Street in Kent when he was shot.

July 15

Carjacking attempt: 8:30 p.m., patrol was dispatched to an attempted carjacking with a knife at Valley Mobile Manor on Central Avenue South. The suspect had walked away southbound on Central. In a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody without force being used. The suspect had an $80,000 warrant for his arrest.

July 17

Shot in back: 11:26 p.m., a male was shot in the back twice with a shotgun at 112th Avenue SE and SE 240th Street. He was able to flee on foot back to the Alvista 240 Apartments, 24928 110th Pl. SE. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

July 18

Post office burglary: 3:52 a.m., officers responded to the post office on West Gowe Street downtown for several alarms. A female in the area said there was a burglary of the post office, but that the suspects had already left. After speaking with her, information obtained revealed a felony warrant. Upon a search, numerous post office keys were found in her possession and bags of mail were found behind the dumpster where she was originally hiding. A postal inspector arrived and informed us that the suspect is a prolific burglar of post offices and they have several active cases with her. USPS took over the investigation.

Assault: 11:33 a.m., the ex-boyfriend of a woman entered her home, reportedly assaulted her multiple times and made threatening statements to her and their children in common that he would cause bodily harm to her. The woman was able to leave home with children. Attempts to call him out were unsuccessful. Ultimately, entry was made into the residence and suspect was taken into custody without incident.

July 23

Man shot 4 times: 9:14 p.m., officers were called to a shooting near Russell Street and Central Avenue North. A 50-year-old man was located with four gunshot wounds. Officers performed life-saving measures until Medic One arrived and transported the man to Harborview in critical condition.

July 24

Drive-by shooting: 12:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to a drive-by shooting at the Sterling Ridge Apartments, 11328 SE Kent Kangley Road. Two units were hit numerous times, they were occupied but no occupants were hit by any of the bullets.

Road-rage shooting: 11:52 a.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 21800 block of of 84th Avenue South. Simultaneously, traffic officers were responding to a collision on South 212th Street near 91st Place South, fronting WinCo. It was quickly determined that both stemmed from the same incident. In summary, there was a road rage incident that started at Starbucks at South 224th Street and 84th Avenue South. The victim vehicle was intending to exit the Starbucks parking lot, during which time the impatient suspect driver nearly hit the victim vehicle several times. The victim turned northbound on 84th Avenue, and the driver of the suspect vehicle proceeded to chase him. At some point the driver of the suspect vehicle fired one round at the victim and continued chasing. The victim, attempting to flee, made a U-turn on South 212th which resulted in him colliding with one vehicle, causing a chain reaction of collisions to follow. The driver of the suspect vehicle fled.
