A sampling of Kent Police incidents Dec. 27, 2021 to Jan. 9:

Dec. 27, 2021

Robbery at park: 1:48 a.m., officers were dispatched to a robbery at the Glenn Nelson Park, 26800 Military Road S. The victims were parked at this location when two subjects driving a green Ford Mustang approached and robbed them of their property at gunpoint. The vehicle was found at Washington Avenue South and Kent Des Moines Road as one of the suspects was attempting to reattach the chains to the rear tires. As officers were taking that suspect in custody, the passenger jumped into the driver seat and sped away. The suspect vehicle was found again unoccupied, a K-9 track was conducted, and the second suspect was taken in custody in the 6400 block of South 287th Street in Auburn.

Dec. 28

Robbed of cash: 8:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to a call of a robbery with a gun at the Circle Foods store, 10602 SE 256th St. The victim had walked to the store from his apartment to make a purchase when he was approached by a male suspect. The suspect eventually pulled a handgun and robbed the victim of his money. A responding officer located someone matching the suspect description and attempted to stop the individual based on reasonable suspicion. The suspect failed to comply, ran, jumped a fence, and evaded capture as officers were unable to chase initially due to state legislation.

Dec. 31

Stolen vehicle, crash: 4:09 a.m., officers were dispatched to a stolen vehicle recovery at the Atrium Apartments. Upon their arrival, they found the vehicle was occupied with the driver passed out. As officers were surrounding the vehicle and attempting to safely gain compliance to detain the driver; he woke up and ignored commands. The suspect struck a patrol vehicle with the stolen vehicle and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Officers could not purse due to state legislation and the stolen vehicle was later found wrecked at the intersection of 64th Avenue South and South 228th Street. The suspect was driving at such a high rate of speed, that it struck a tree so hard; the engine was ejected from the vehicle launching it to the opposite side of the median. The suspect had extensive injuries, was treated by medics, and transported to the hospital.

Assault, robbery: 10:06 p.m., officers were originally dispatched to a threats with a weapon at the intersection of W Meeker St and Frager Road S. The victim stopped at this location as he had a flat tire. A short time later a black sedan stopped near his vehicle and the driver asked if he needed help. The driver of that vehicle eventually got out, pushed the victim to the ground and assaulted him. The suspect also pointed a firearm at him and took the victim’s jewelry and bank cards.

Jan. 3

Shooting: 12:16 a.m., officers responded to the El Piketon restaurant at South 196th Street and 84th Avenue South for a shooting with injuries. One victim had a gunshot wound to his left heel. His friend, the witness, said the unknown suspects fled in a white sedan (no plate). The victim and his friend had been waiting for their Uber when the suspects arrived in that white sedan and fired 7-8 rounds in their direction.

Armed robbery: 6:13 p.m., officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at the intersection of SE 244th Street and 102nd Avenue SE. The victim had been traveling northbound on 102nd Ave SE and about to turn west on SE 242nd St. The victim stopped as he saw two subjects, a male and female, begin to cross the street on foot and he decided to wait for them to pass. The subjects approached the victim, engaged him in conversation, and then robbed him at gunpoint of everything that he had to include his vehicle.

Jan. 4

20 shots fired: 2:21 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at Central Flats Apartments, 1024 Central Ave. N. Witnesses saw a white SUV leave westbound and a suspect on foot leave eastbound. About 20 casings were located. No victims have come forward and no one arrived at area hospitals with related injuries.

Stolen vehicles: 8:04 a.m., Kent officers and King County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a report of suspicious vehicles at the Carpinito Brothers Farm, 9276 S. 277th St. King County had located two stolen vehicles in the Carpinito Farm’s field Jan. 3. All vehicles were stuck in the mud and snow and reported stolen. The victim attempted to contact two subjects associated with the stolen vehicles and the driver of one attempted to run over the victim. Officers and deputies were able to locate and take both suspects in custody. All the vehicles were recovered.

Burglary: 11:08 a.m., officers were dispatched to an in-progress burglary in the 27500 block of 156th Avenue SE. Forced entry had been made through a back slider door. A foot pursuit through multiple back yards and through occupied homes ensued. Officers set a great perimeter and the suspect was eventually captured.

Knife attack: 8:11 p.m., a male was with another male and female at the 76 Station, 1513 W. Meeker. The victim and female got into an argument and the second male slashed the victim’s forehead with a knife and fled the area. The victim was transported to Valley Medical Center in Renton with a non-life-threatening injury.

Stabbing: 10 p.m., officers responded to a stabbing victim who wandered into the 7-Eleven at 104th Avenue SE and SE 240th Street. The victim had been stabbed multiple times in the face, back and legs at the bus stop in front of Phoenix Court Apartments. He was transported by medics to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Jan. 5

Street fight: On January 5, at 2:11am, officers were dispatched to three subjects fighting in the area of 104th Avenue SE and SE 240th Street. The two suspects fled the area while the adult victim flagged down a witness asking for help. The victim wondered over to the 7-Eleven and collapsed. The victim suffered an open skull fracture. The victim was confronted by two juvenile males and a dispute started. One of the suspect’s produced a handgun. The victim knocked the handgun out of the suspect’s hands then was hit in the head by the second suspect who had a baseball bat. The victim was treated by Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority and Medic-1 and transported to Harborview with non-life-threatening injuries.

Jan. 8

Attempted robbery: 12:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to a hold-up alarm at the Money Tree, 25260 104th Ave SE. A subject handed a note to an employee stating they had a gun and demanded money. One of the employees took the note, alerted other employees and customers of the situation and hid in the back after pressing the panic alarm. The suspect left without gaining access to the money.

Road rage: 1:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to a threat with a weapon which occurred at the intersection of Willis Street and the southbound on ramp to Highway 167. Officers contacted the victim who stated another motorist cut her off so she flipped him off. The other motorist repeated the hand gesture and eventually pulled out a firearm pointing it at the victim.

Threat with weapon: 1:20 p,m,, officers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven, 511 Central Ave. S., regarding a threat with a weapon. Two males came into the store and flashed a firearm to an employee. They had been in the store earlier in the day and shoplifted a couple bags of chips. When they came back to the store in the afternoon, the employee told the subjects to leave because of the prior shoplift. One of the males became upset and reached into his jacket grabbing a handgun. One male suspect said something to the effect of “Come outside.” The suspects left the store. An area search was conducted, but the suspect(s) were not located.

Jan. 9

Stolen vehicle, pursuit: 4:07 a.m., officers were dispatched to a reported occupied stolen vehicle at Phoenix Court Apartments, 23913 11th Place SE, called in by security. The vehicle ended up leaving the area northbound on 112th Avenue SE. Officers conducted an area check and located the vehicle in the neighborhood to the north. Officers initiated a traffic stop and surrounded the vehicle being driven by a female. In the process of trying to get the female to comply, she ended up striking two patrol vehicles, almost running over a couple officers, and hitting two other unoccupied vehicles in attempt to get away. A pursuit ensued which was ended with the utilization of a P.I.T maneuver. The suspect was taken in custody after a K-9 track.

Woman shot: 6:56 p.m., officers responded to Arbor Chase Apartments, 1615 W. Smith St., for a shooting. The female victim was shot in the abdomen at Ventana Apartments, 329 Ridgeview Dr., by an unknown person. Just a few minutes later, another 911 call came in from a male who said he shot someone trying to steal his car. The person he shot left on foot. That male caller cooperated with police and surrendered his firearm. His car was also seized as evidence.
