A sampling of Kent Police incidents Aug. 26 to Sept. 9:

Aug. 26

• Coffee stand robbery: 8:50 a.m., patrol responded to Daily Dose Coffee, 20900 108th Ave. SE, regarding an armed robbery of the espresso stand. Patrol arrived and interviewed the victim, who described the suspect who had brandished a handgun after coming up to the backdoor of the stand. The victim surrendered the cash in the till, and the suspect left. While interviewing the victim, the suspect was located by officers nearby and arrested.

• Armed robbery at Red Lion: 7:26 p.m., patrol responded to the Red Lion, 25100 74th Ave. S., regarding an armed robbery. After winning $25,000 from a lottery ticket, the victim rented a room at the hotel. At the hotel, the victim bumped into an acquaintance and spoke for a while before both exited the hotel. The victim went to their car and was surprised by two people, one being the person he had just spoken with, who were armed and told him to open his trunk. They proceeded to take the victim’s items and cash. Police swarmed the area and were able to locate and arrest one of the suspects.

• Carjacking: 11:35 p.m., patrol responded to a carjacking in the 10400 block of SE 224th St. The victim had met with the suspects to buy an electric scooter. During that time, the two suspects brandished firearms and took the victim’s SUV.

• Gunshot wounds: A man called to report that he had shot himself in the legs. Upon arrival, officers discovered he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his legs. The man’s wife appeared unusually calm and told officers she had heard nothing. However, she later stated that she heard three gunshots and explained that she had just returned from a 10-month deployment in Iraq, arriving home to find another woman in bed with her husband. Officers completed an informational report and forwarded the case to detectives for further investigation, as the circumstances suggest the incident may be more complex than initially reported.

Aug. 28

• School vandalism: 11:41 a.m., patrol responded to Neely O’Brien Elementary, 6300 S. 236th St., regarding overnight vandalism. Patrol obtained video of the suspect walking up to the school and using a Sharpie to write several phrases on the front of the school.

Aug. 29

• Attempted robbery: 10:39 p.m., patrol responded regarding an attempted robbery at the Inn Between Pub, 25412 104th Ave. SE. The victim was sitting in her car when the suspect opened her car door, brandishing a firearm and demanding the vehicle. The victim initially refused, so the suspect fired several rounds into the air, drawing a crowd. The suspect fled on foot and was found by patrol nearby and arrested.

• Assault and more: A female entered a business at SE 207th Street and 108th Ave. SE requesting her brother. Employees did not know the suspect or the suspect’s brother. The suspect then grabbed a fire extinguisher and tried assaulting two employees. An officer arrived as the suspect was attempting to flee. The suspect resisted and was taken to the ground, where she continued resisting. The business owner assisted the officer by grabbing one of the suspect’s arms. She was then handcuffed. The suspect was booked on multiple counts.

Aug. 31

• Stabbing: 9:33 p.m., patrol responded to the 26000 block of 121st Ave. SE, referencing a stabbing. Details surrounding what happened are unclear. The victim’s wife was asleep upstairs when she awoke to yelling downstairs. She came down to find her husband stabbed multiple times. When she had gone to bed around 40 minutes earlier, he had been in the living room with a group of friends.

Sept. 1

• Robbery at home: 1:16 a.m., patrol responded to the 13100 block of SE 219th Place regarding a robbery. The victims advised they had awoken to their dog barking. Assuming the dog needed out, they opened the door, allowing the suspect to enter. The suspect, armed with a handgun, demanded cash from the victims. They provided their wallets, and the suspect fled after saying he was at the wrong house.

Sept. 2

• Door Dash driver robbery: 3:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to a panic alarm from a Door Dash driver at 28118 121st Pl. SE. Contact was made with the victim/driver, who stated he was robbed by three suspects with a gun who had stolen a pizza. A K-9 track and multiple surveillance cameras led officers to a residence in the 28100 block of 122nd Pl. SE. Officers arrested two subjects from the house and identified the third male.

Sept. 4

• Robbery: 3:03 p.m., patrol responded to an armed robbery at 7-Eleven, 24000 104th Ave. SE. Two victims had been walking to 7-Eleven when two suspects approached them. One suspect brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s items; only one victim had anything, and the two suspects fled with a cellphone and $20.

Sept. 5

• Pedestrian struck: Officers were dispatched to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in the parking lot of the Red Lion Inn & Suites, 25100 74th Ave. S. Medics and officers arrived simultaneously and discovered a male lying in the middle of the parking lot with head trauma. The male was unresponsive and unable to speak. No witnesses were present at the scene, and surveillance cameras were inaccessible. Medics determined the individual’s condition was deteriorating, prompting immediate transport to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Upon arrival, the medical team stabilized him, though further tests are ongoing

Sept. 6

• 8 juveniles arrested: 2:49 a.m., patrol units were flagged regarding a disturbance in the vicinity of Second Avenue South and West Meeker Street. The reporting individual indicated that a large group of juveniles was confronting passersby and attempting to instigate altercations. Upon patrol’s arrival, it was determined that an individual had sustained severe injuries and was rendered unconscious. Eight juveniles were subsequently apprehended and charged with second-degree assault.

• Cash theft: Police responded to a reported robbery involving a firearm at a smoke shop near the Kent-Kangley Road and SE 256th Street intersection. Witnesses followed the suspect on foot and directed arriving officers to his location. Following a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended. After interviewing the employee, it was determined that the incident involved a simple theft of cash from the register. However, the suspect was found to have an extraditable warrant out of Texas, resulting in an additional fugitive from justice charge.

• Weapon threat: 9:09 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Riverwood Apartments, 24620 Russell Road, in response to a reported weapon threat. The investigation revealed that the suspect, who had been attending a large family gathering, became highly intoxicated. When family members requested that the suspect leave due to her level of intoxication, she responded by assaulting multiple individuals. The suspect then retrieved a firearm from her backpack, proceeded to point it at family members, and made verbal threats. An independent witness observed the suspect armed with the gun as she exited the apartment. The suspect fled the scene but was later located at her residence at The BLVD Apartments, 2136 S. 272nd St., and was taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s apartment, where the firearm was found concealed in a closet.

Sept. 7

• Carjacking: 4:02 a.m., officers responded to a reported carjacking at a convenience store at 500 Central Ave. S. Upon arrival, officers contacted the victims, who explained they had been approached by several individuals, one of whom was armed, demanding their vehicle.

• Stolen golf cart: Police observed suspicious activity near Phoenix Court Apartments, 23913 111th Pl. SE, when a male suspect was seen driving a golf cart from the property. Upon noticing police, the suspect fled, and officers observed a nearby truck and trailer appearing ready to receive the stolen cart. Leveraging local knowledge of the area, officers identified the suspect as a known individual involved in burglaries and thefts. The truck was impounded, and a search revealed stolen goods and a firearm.

• Robbery: 3:33 p.m., officers were dispatched to a robbery near SE 240th Street and 112th Avenue SE. The victim, operating a small stand, reported that two individuals approached, inquiring about personal belongings before taking money from the victim. Officers later identified a potential vehicle linked to the suspects and initiated a traffic stop, which the vehicle failed to comply with and fled the scene.

• Vehicle strikes officer: 5:25 p.m., officers responded to a traffic collision near the 26000 block of Pacific Highway South. Upon arrival, the suspect was uncooperative and attempted to leave the scene, during which an officer’s foot was struck by the suspect’s vehicle. The officer pursued the suspect, but the pursuit was later discontinued. The investigation is continuing to identify and arrest the suspect.

Sept. 8

• Commercial burglary: Police investigated a commercial burglary at 335 Washington Ave. S. A suspect vehicle was located and stopped, and a male suspect was detained for second-degree driving while license suspended. After reviewing video footage and contacting the victim, probable cause was established for burglary. The suspect was booked, and the vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant.

Sept. 9

• Baby not breathing: 4:04 a.m., officers were dispatched to 12100 block of SE 223rd Avenue in response to a CPR in progress involving a 1-year-old girl who was reported to be unconscious and not breathing. Upon arrival, officers found the child awake and crying. The child’s mother informed officers that she had found the child unresponsive and administered Narcan, which successfully revived her. The mother admitted to being a frequent fentanyl user but believed the substance was securely stored. While providing aid, officers discovered a “ghost” firearm near the couch in proximity to drug paraphernalia. The firearm belonged to the mother’s boyfriend, who is a convicted felon. The boyfriend was arrested. The child was transported to Seattle Children’s Hospital for further medical evaluation. Detectives were called to the scene and took over the investigation.
