A sampling of Kent Police incidents April 25 to May 8:

April 25

Unwanted adult child: 5:58 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a felony order violation involving an unwanted adult child trespassing near his parents’ residence. The individual moved onto the premises of Springbrook Elementary School, 20035 100th Ave. SE, and refused to vacate. The officer arrived on the scene and successfully deescalated the situation, apprehending the suspect without further incident.

April 28

Intrusion: In the early hours, an officer responded to a report from a lone employee at a warehouse on the north end of the city reporting an intrusion and assault. Despite a language barrier, the employees secured themselves in the office while hearing movements within the warehouse. The officer, assisted by colleagues, apprehended an exceptionally incoherent suspect after a brief struggle.

April 29

Felony warrant suspect: 5:58 p.m., an officer discovered an unattended stolen vehicle in the Red Lion parking lot, 25100 74th Ave. S. Further investigation revealed an identification card within, linking the vehicle to an individual with multiple felony warrants. A coordinated effort ensued, with the officer addressing tactical concerns, drafting a search warrant, and the team thoroughly searching the associated rooms. Despite the search efforts, the suspect remained elusive, prompting the case’s referral to the detective division.

Construction site burglary: 11:25 p.m., patrol responded to the area of 11600 SE 259th Place to a report of a construction site being burglarized. Officers arrived on the scene and found an unmarked van occupied by two suspects. The two juveniles were detained by police and reportedly determined to be the perpetrators who had burglarized the construction site.

April 30

Business burglary: 12:37 p.m., patrol responded to the 18800 block of 72nd Ave. S., in response to a burglary. Patrol met with the business owner, who reported numerous items missing, the total cost of which is estimated to be around $15,000. The victim also identified his items on Facebook Marketplace.

Bank robbery: 3:58 p.m., patrol responded to US Bank at 10200 SE 240th St. in response to a robbery. The suspect passed the cashier a note stating it was a robbery and specified which bills to provide him. The victim complied, handing over $1,600 in cash to the suspect, who left the scene.

May 1

Carjacking: 2:01 p.m., patrol responded to O’Reilly’s at 10400 SE 240th St., to a carjacking. Upon their arrival, they interviewed the victim, who had been attempting to park his vehicle but found the space blocked by two people. After honking at them to get them to move, he confronted them, resulting in a small fight. The male and female suspects then took his vehicle, which was later located nearby by officers.

May 2

Passed out in vehicle: 7:43 a.m., officers were dispatched to a welfare check at Twin Firs Apartments at 10545 SE 238th St. Initial information indicated a grey Kia Sorento in the parking lot with three individuals passed out inside. Upon arrival, officers contacted the vehicle and observed three individuals passed out inside with drug paraphernalia scattered about the interior of the car. They also observed a firearm on the lap of the passed-out front passenger. Additional units were requested, and a high-risk stop was conducted. All three occupants of the vehicle were detained without incident.

Shot in hand: 11:20 a.m., patrol was dispatched to a shooting incident at 27502 151st Place SE. Responding officers located a 19-year-old Covington resident who claimed to have been shot at while walking. The victim sustained a minor flesh wound on his hand and was transported to Covington MultiCare by his father. Officers canvassed the area and located two shell casings in the roadway of 152nd Avenue SE. The case has been referred to detectives for further investigation.

May 4

Domestic violence assault: Patrol responded to a domestic violence incident at Knol Apartments, 11239 SE 260th St. Officers encountered a male with a severe abdominal laceration and a female suspect. The female was arrested for felony assault, and a search warrant was issued to retrieve the weapon involved.

May 6

Red Lion robbery: 4:25 a.m., officers responded to a robbery at Red Lion, 25100 74th Ave. S. An employee had confronted a transient sleeping in the stairwell and asked them to leave when the suspect punched the employee numerous times and demanded his phone. The suspect fled on foot.

May 8

Person shot: 12:52 a.m., patrol was dispatched to a shooting near 1040 Central Ave. N. The victim was calling 911 to report they had just been shot by a group of juveniles who then fled in an SUV. Officers located the victim on the sidewalk along Central Avenue North, just north of the Central Flats Apartments entrance. Officers found the victim had been shot in the side/back. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. Multiple spent shell casings were located at the scene.
