A sampling of Kent Police incidents April 17-25:
April 17
Shots fired: 1:35 a.m., officers heard gunshots in the Bellagio Hookah Bar/Goodwill parking lot at SE 256th Street/102nd Place SE and saw several people/cars fleeing the parking lots.
Park shooting: 11:36 p.m., Valley Communications received reports of an illegal discharge at Turnkey Park SE 233rd Street/100th Avenue SE. Video from a nearby home shows a group of about six people confront another group, several gunshots are fired, and people flee. A female was at Valley Medical Center in Renton with gunshot wounds to her legs. She described being out ‘somewhere’ in Kent with racers. She was not fully cooperative but did admit she was near Turnkey Park area.
April 20
Road rage shooting: 6:19 p.m., patrol was dispatched to a shooting in the area of 409 Third Ave. S. Units quickly arrived and found two vehicles involved in a crash at Third Avenue South and West Willis Street. The suspect allegedly got into a vehicle and chased after the victim vehicle. As the victim vehicle was trying to escape several gunshots were heard and it T-boned another vehicle before coming to rest in the yard. Nine 9mm casings were located on Third Avenue South. No one was hit by gunfire. The suspect was located in Renton and was found to be violating a no contact order prior to the shooting.
April 23
Injury car crash: 1:17 a.m., patrol was dispatched to a two-car injury collision in the intersection of 116th Avenue SE and Kent Kangley Road. The driver, a 32-year-old Kent resident, was trapped inside his vehicle and had a weak pulse. Puget Sound Fire was able to extract him from the vehicle after several minutes and he was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with head and leg injuries. The other driver, a 35-year-old Kent resident, was taken to Valley Medical Center in Renton as a precaution. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been a factor.
April 25
Apartment shooting: 4:30 p.m., patrol responded to an illegal discharge call in the area of the Mosaic Hills Apartments, 10811 SE 239th Place. The caller reported hearing five shots, saw several juveniles run into the complex, then heard a car speed off. Checks were made, nothing at the time was located. About one hour later, a 17-year-old male victim showed up to Valley Medical Center in Renton with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He indicated he was shot at Mosaic Hills. The victim had no suspect description information to provide.
Major emphasis patrol
Patrol conducted an emphasis April 16, at the Bellagio Hookah Lounge on SE 256th Street and 102nd Place SE in regard to all the shootings that have been happening in that area.
