Patrol units from the Kent and Auburn police arrested a 26-year-old Renton woman on Saturday at the Muckleshoot Casino Bingo Hall in Auburn who was wanted in connection with a Kent stabbing attack on July 22.

Kent Police received information that Abbie M. Rupnick might be at the casino at about 6 a.m. on Saturday. She had been spotted going into the bingo hall’s main entrance by a Kent officer.

Patrol units from Kent and Auburn contained the building and then worked with Muckleshoot security to get video surveillance, according to the Kent Police. A Kent detective in plain clothes went inside to provide intelligence.

Rupnick was playing slots in the northwest corner of the casino. Auburn Police units went in the West entrance with an arrest team. Kent Police units entered the north entrance at the same time to cut off an escape route. Officers took Rupnick into custody without incident. Officers also seized two bags belonging to Rupnick.

Kent Police sent out a media release on July 30 to seek the public’s help to find Rupnick. She and Michael Anthony Santos, 32, of Kent, are charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and first-degree robbery in connection with the stabbing attack of a 64-year-old man at his East Hill home. The man suffered stab wounds to his groin, back and legs. He was released in mid-August from Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

According to charging papers, after Santos and Rupnick came into the house they attacked the man. Santos reportedly accused the man of being a child molester and a snitch. The victim knew Rupnick but didn’t know Santos.

Santos remained at-large for a few days before Kent Police arrested him on July 28 in Kent.

Rupnick remained in custody on Tuesday at the King County jail in Seattle with bail set at $500,000. Santos is in custody at the county jail at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent with bail denied after initially being set at $500,000.
