The health clinic at Kent Phoenix Academy (KPA) is now available to students at Kent-Meridian high school.
Beginning in November of 2012, the on-campus health clinic, originally exclusive to KPA students, opened its doors to serve the uninsured and underinsured students at K-M.
“For many years they’ve had a desire to access the clinic at Kent Phoenix Academy,” said Annette Gibbs, personal health services supervisor for the Kent Public Health clinics. “It (was) a matter of finding funding.”
The services offered at the teen health clinic are the exact same services found at any primary care provider’s office from immunizations to reproductive health care.
The purpose of the par-time clinic is to provide supplemental health care to students. While only open three days a week, the clinic also helps students find a medical home or apply for health insurance if need be.
The KPA health clinic does not intend to partner with other schools in the Kent School District due to campus safety and other potential issues.
Currently, the teen health clinic is partnering with KPA to promote a suicide prevention campaign around campus.

9a.m.-5p.m.
