An overnight Severe Weather Shelter in Kent will be available to the public Tuesday night, Nov. 29 through Thursday night, Dec. 1, according to the city of Kent.
The shelter will operate from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church, 310 Third Ave. S., in downtown Kent. For more information, call the church at 253-859-0444.
Volunteers are needed to help at the shelter. To volunteer, email CHorn@KentWA.gov.
Warming centers
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 1 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Snow accumulation between 1 and 4 inches is expected. A Wind Advisory is also in effect from 4 p.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday. Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are expected. Temperatures are predicted to be a high of 40 and low of 37 on Tuesday; 42 and 29 on Wednesday; and 38 and 25 on Thursday.
