Kent Police arrested a woman for investigation of fourth-degree assault after she allegedly slapped her husband in the face while both were at work at a business in the 6700 block of South 216th Street.

Officers responded to a call about a domestic dispute at about 12:39 p.m. Feb. 15, according to the police report.

When police tracked down the husband in his office at the business, he said to officers, “It’s no one’s business to call. What’s the law on people calling about this?”

Police noted that the man’s left side of his face was extremely red compared to the other side that had normal skin tone.

“Look, I’ve done stuff before, too,” the husband said. “She just got mad. It was only a slap. I’m a big boy, I can take it.”

The man added that his wife slapped him because he had made her mad.

Officers then located the wife in the warehouse area. She saw police and said, “So when he hit me, you don’t do anything. When I hit him, you come here.”

The wife told officers her husband had hit her a long time ago but she didn’t report the incident to police.

When asked what happened earlier in the day at the office, she said, “He made me mad, so I slapped his face.” The woman then added she wasn’t talking anymore. There was no specifics in the report about what might have made the wife mad.

Police transported the woman to the city jail, where she spent four days before her release, according to jail records.

Harassment

Officers arrested a woman for investigation of harassment after she reportedly made threats at about 9:07 a.m. Feb. 15 to the staff of an apartment complex in the 11000 block of Southeast Kent-Kangley Road.

Officers had taken a complaint the prior day about the same woman making threats to staff at the apartment complex, according to the police report.

When police responded to the call, they saw a woman standing outside the office and yelling that people in the office were taking stuff from her.

Office staff told police that the woman pounded on office doors before the office opened demanding to get in. She reportedly threatened to break in and kill them and also said she would blow up the building. Staff feared for their safety. They knew the woman could be upset because they were evicting her from the apartments.

When police asked the woman if she had made threats to office staff she replied, “those lying bitches.”

Police also arrested the woman for a Kent warrant for malicious mischief.

Drugs

Police arrested a woman for an identity theft warrant and cited her for possession of drug paraphernalia after a patrol officer ran license plates of cars parked at about 9:01 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Shell gas station, 15209 S.E. Kent-Kangley Road.

An officer ran the plates and discovered the registered owner of one of the car’s had a warrant out of Pierce County for identity theft, according to the police report.

The officer saw three women in the car and asked the woman named in the warrant to step out of the vehicle. He then arrested her. The woman also had a black bag on her lap. She gave officers the OK to search the bag. They found needles, syringes, a lighter and burnt Q-tips. The officer noted that Q-tips are used to filter heroin while drawing it into a syringe.

Police also arrested a woman in the car for a third-degree theft warrant out of Federal Way.

Malicious mischief

Officers arrested a man for investigation of malicious mischief after he reportedly threw a rock to break a screen door window Feb. 16 in the 22600 block of 119th Avenue Southeast.

Officers found the man just down the road from the house, according to the police report.

The man told police he broke the window trying to get into the house. A man inside the house said he heard glass break. When he opened his front door, he saw the broken glass in the screen door and a large rock apparently used to break the window.
