Kent Police arrested a 55-year-old mother for investigation of fourth-degree assault after she reportedly bit her 27-year-old son near his right hip after an argument about her son’s dating relationships.
The incident occurred at about 4:51 a.m. July 31 at an apartment in the 25200 block of 106th Avenue Southeast, according to the police report.
The woman had called police because she said her son slapped her in the face before she bit him.
“I bit him, I’ll admit to that,” the woman told officers. She said she bit her son to get him to stop slapping her.
The son had a bite mark near his right hip. The mother had no marks or injuries.
The mother told officers she was upset with her son because of his apparent relationship with a married woman. She also accused her son of being in an intimate relationship with the married woman as well as the married woman’s daughter.
The son told officers he did not have an intimate relationship with the married woman. He said he asked his mother for keys to the storage shed so he could leave the apartment on his bicycle, but she refused to give him the keys and the argument escalated.
Officers noted that the mother appeared to be extremely intoxicated. They could smell intoxicants and reported that the woman had slurred speech.
