Residents are invited to a grand opening of the new Kent-Meridian High School gym complex from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14.
Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke, Kent School District superintendent Edward Lee Vargas, Kent School Board president Bill Boyce and Kent-Meridian principal Wade Barringer will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:15 p.m.
Attendees will then be able to take tours of the facility.
Kent-Meridian had to switch its scheduled Tuesday volleyball match at the gym to Kentlake because final electrical work and inspections remained to be completed, Barringer said.
The Royals will host Kentwood in a volleyball match at 7 p.m. Thursday.
