A candidates forum for the Kent mayoral race will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28 at First Christian Church, 11717 SE 24oth St.
“The political offices that touch your life most often are those in your hometown, but most of the time we have no clue who is running for those offices,” said Dave Stockton, lead organizer of the event sponsored by local residents. “As a citizen of Kent, it is important to me, and my family, that we ensure that the person leading this city is fully qualified to do the job. We want the opportunity to hear each of the candidates so that we can make an informed decision in the Aug. 1 primary election.”
A panel of community leaders will ask questions of the four candidates followed by a 30-minute question and answer session from the public. Kent attorney Pat Hanis will lead the panel.
Jim Berrios, Dana Ralph, Andrew Swansen and Elizabeth Albertson have confirmed their participation, Stockton said.
Pastor Bob Brooks, of First Christian Church, will host the event.
